Staff was very friendly. I did not enjoy the room or continental breakfast. Room had stains on sheets, hair in bathroom. And it was bizarrely hot even with the heat off. Had to sleep with the door open to try and get cool. Cont breakfast didn't have any meats or fruit, just some bread, cereal, and one yogurt. I have been inspired to just camp the rest of this trip. $99 a night gets people a very nice hotel in many parts of the USA. Not Alaska though. Which is a bummer. The natural beauty is the trade off of course. Very basic rooms. No small refrigerator, microwave or air conditioner. They do have clean rooms, wifi and satellite TV and you can't hear your neighbors snoring. The last one being most important. Great local motel, home style meals and live music during our one night stay. A welcoming place to rest after a long day on the road. I love this place. $30 is a lot for tent camping. For that price they should provide towels for the shower or provide wifi. However, the staff was kind and the lemonade in the evening and coffee in the morning was a nice touch. Good service, hot water is fantastic and never ran out (my 18 person fire crew stayed here). Free coffee for guests. Laundry on site. No food though. There is a grocery store close by.
